Solvency ii Jobs
from the Solvency ii Association

It is going to be a busy period for everybody, starting from the supervisors.

If you google "solvency ii jobs", you will be very surprised.

There are many 6 figure jobs (permanent jobs) and great contracts that pay
700-100 GBP per day.

Surprise, surprise... There are several jobs outside the EU, in countries that have decided to become Solvency ii equivalent, or international groups and insurance/ mixed holding companies.

Question: What is common in the following job openings?

A. Finance Director 120,000-160,000 + bonus + bens, Copenhagen Denmark

B. Managing Consultant – Regulatory Strategy, Risk & Compliance £90k London, Edinburgh, United Kingdom

C. Senior Manager - Advisory $160k tax free Dubai, UAE

D. IT Project Consultant £100,000 London, Manchester & Edinburgh, UKs.

Answer: The above jobs require understanding of the Solvency ii directive and framework

According to CEIOPS (Report on the Preparedness of Insurance Supervisors to implement Solvency II, June 2010), one of the main challenges for supervisors relates to the development of appropriate staff (number/type/competences), with an expected increased number of staff of 20% by the date of entry into force of Solvency II (December 2012).

Most countries however have indicated difficulties in recruiting staff with Solvency II knowledge, due to competition in the market, as the industry can offer better remuneration packages to recruit skilled staff.

According to CEIOPS, work on the implementation of Solvency II is an unprecedented complex and challenging process in the area of insurance supervision: It is a long process that, started well in advance of the adoption of the Solvency II Proposal in July 2007, is proceeding at an increasing pace, involving a change in mentality, competences, covering all the different areas/sectors of the supervisory authorities, demanding resources and often implying reorganisation.
